One of our Albany Police Community Resource Officers just called while checking out a junk complaint I received in today’s mail. It’s the third complaint I’ve received since July from the same person about the same property. The second and third complaints included a second address.

The letters are  all hand-written, undated, and contain only a name to identify the writer. No return address. No phone number, and the name is not listed in the phone book nor have I been able to find it by clicking in our online mapping program on one address after another  in the neighborhoods surrounding the two properties. The name doesn’t show up either in a statewide database of registered voters.

Sir, if you’d given me at least a phone number, I’d be able to tell you that APD has followed up at both addresses and is doing so again today.  I could tell you a timeline for what’s being done. I could also thank you for caring about the appearance of the community.
